Look(,) Beautiful/Mira(te), Guapa is a series of photographic metaphors about femininity as it appears in the outside world. Through the experience of her everyday life and surroundings- primarily in Barcelona, Spain- during the spring of 2017, the artist makes observations through different photographic styles: the spontaneous, the contextual, and the manipulated. The work is bilingual and the titles in both Spanish and English aim to enrich the visual metaphors to different effect depending on the language in which they are written. Overall, the work provides recurring themes and commentaries but still seeks to provide a space for open-ended reflection.
